husband of Charlotte F. Strickert, daughter of Oscar Strickert, son of Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert, son of Johann Christian Friedrich Strickert, son of Johan and Christina Strickert.
SCOTT CITY - Ben J. Goken, 88, died Dec. 23, 1989, at Scott County Hospital, Scott City.
He was born March 9, 1901, in Wichita County, the son of Lammart and Christine Goken. He lived in Scott City since 1960, and was a retired farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lydia, in Wichita County, an eternal partner of Oral Roberts, and a member of the V.I.P. Senior Citizens Center, Scott City.
On April 25, 1940, he married Charlotte Strickert at Scott City.
She survives. Other survivors include: one brother, Gerhard, Goodland; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Scott City, the Rev. Lynn Smith presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today, and until service time Tuesday, at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City. Burial will be in the Lydia Lutheran Cemetery, Lydia, in Wichita County. Memorials may be sent to the First Baptist Church, Scott City. |
