Catherine Barbara Neumann was the youngest daughter of Frederick Neumann and Louisa Caroline Wendt (both from Mecklenburg-Schwerin) and immigrating to Ontario Canada in 1951. Catherine was born in 1855. See Catherine Neumann family for Neumann family tree.
She became the third wife of Fredrich Strickert, marrying in 1873. Since he was 34 at the time, she was sixteen years younger.
Catherine after picking tomatoes. See "Memories of Fredrich and Catherine in Canada" by daughter Tillie Mahler. The family moved to Scott City, Kansas in 1893. When Friedrich died in 1909, Catherine took over the farm.
