“Christian and Pauline’s farm house in 1903. This picture was taken when Amelia was married.
The family here, front row:
Christian( 1842-1915), Augusta (1889-1918), age about 14, and Pauline (1852-1925).
Back row: Henry John (1883-1955), William (1873-1921), Melvina (1886-1949), Amelia (1880-1971), Frederick (1874-1955), Emma (1884-1960), Matilda (1875-1948), and August (1877-1925). Mary (1884-1908) is missing from this picture. She was married in 1901 to Tom Hesson. They had 1 son John. Mary dies in 1908.”

“This picture must have been taken around Christmas, 1916, when Amelia took her
3 youngest children East (to Ontario) to visit her mother, sisters and brothers.
Her father had died the year before on November 22, 1915 at the age of 73.

Margaretha is sitting in the front row on the right. Her parents, Johann Schade and Anna Elizabeth Ruhl, immigrated from Germany to Perth County, Ontario in 1856, the same year as Johann and Christina Strickert. In 1897 (three years after photo), John William Strickert (born 1873, the oldest son of Christian Strickert, the youngest son of Johann and Christina) married Margaretha. Together they had eight children. Margaretha died in 1968 in Perth County, Ontario.
