WILBUR, WASH.
Funeral for Christopher Michael Wilken, 53, will be at 11 a.m. today at Wilbur Lutheran Church. Vault burial will follow at the Almira (Wash.) Cemetery. Strate Funeral Home in Wilbur is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wilken, who was born in Wilbur, died Wednesday.
He graduated in 1967 from Almira High School.
He drove a school bus for the Almira School District and also farmed for a few years before he began working as a deputy for the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department in Sprague, Wash.
In 1976 he married Kay Stearns, and they lived in Almira until moving to Wilbur in 1977.
Mr. Wilken later began working in maintenance for the Lincoln County Road Department. He retired in 2000.
Survivors include his wife; two children, Christopher and Erin Wilken at home; his mother, Alice Wilken of Wilbur; and a brother, Craig Wilken of Sprague.
