Donna was born November 14, 1936, in Lampasas, Texas to Otho and Maude (Forbis) Turman.
She moved to the Corvallis area at a young age and graduated from Corvallis High School.
Donna always helped her Dad with his ice cream store. The store was across from the Corvallis Police Station. One day in 1956, while helping her Dad in the store, Donna met a young police officer named Milan Uppendahl. Milan became the love of her life and they married. After they married they moved to L.A. County where Milan became Deputy Sheriff for L.A. County.
When her children, Lisa and Karin, were born Donna and Milan decided to return to Oregon.
In 1962, they bought a farm near Dallas, Oregon. It was at this time her son, Andrew was born. In 1970, they sold their farm and bought a cattle ranch near Dayville in the John Day Valley. Donna was always running the tractor, truck or whatever was needed to help on the cattle ranch, along with raising her three children. In 1980, they sold the ranch and moved to a small 35 acre farm near Prineville.
Donna worked for Clear Pine Molding for ten years. After her job with Clear Pine she started her own pilot car business. This took her all over the Western states, while helping to move heavy equipment and mobile homes. Six years later after having cancer surgery Donna retired and stayed home.
