wife of Gilbert Marvin Strickert, son of Charles George Strickert, son of Herman Frederich Charles Strickert, son of Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert, son of Johan and Christina Strickert.

Scott City -- Doris Marie Strickert, 75, died July 22, 2004, at Pikes Peak Hospice Center, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She was born Dec. 8, 1928, at Scott City, the daughter of Brannon B. and Reba C. Walker Harkness.  A resident of Colorado Springs since 1998, formerly of Denver and Scott City, she was a loan supervisor for a bank for 17 years.  While living in North Denver, she was appointed to the Democratic Committee Women and served as a precinct polling person and caucus judge.

Survivors include: a son, Gordon W. Strickert, Dighton; three daughters including Judy A. Denton, Dodge City,; a brother, Robert W. Harkness, Scott City; three sisters including Margie Stevens, Scott City; 13 grandchildren; and five grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Monday at Shrine of Remembrance Chapel, Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, with the Rev. Stuart F. Hurst presiding.

Memorials may be sent to the Ronald McDonald House of Wichita, in care of Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton.
