She was born April 17, 1925, in Worland, Wyo., daughter of Rev. Hugo and Edna Neimeier Hoyer. She was baptized into the Christian faith on April 26, 1925 by her father.

Strickert moved from Worland, Wyo., to Gordonville, Missouri in 1928. She was confirmed April 10, 1938 at Christ Lutheran Church, Gordonville.  She was a 1942 graduate of Jackson High School.

Fritzie and Arnold Strickert grew up as friends since Arnold's father was pastor a few miles away from Gordonville in Tilsit (both near Jackson).  But they neve dated throughout their school years.  It was on a family visit to Oklahoma and a detour to see their old friends, the Hoyers, that Arnold met Fritzie again, and they fell in love.  She and Arnold Strickert were married May 7, 1947, in Fairmont, Okla.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson since 1947, and a member and past president of the Concordia Guild since 1947. She was a volunteer at the Lutheran Home and the Lutheran World Relief, and over the years made thousands of quilts for the organization. She was also a Cub Scout den mother for several years in Jackson.
