STRICKERT, Elmer L. - Of Clio, age 72, died Sunday, October 28, 2001 at Genesys Health Park.
Funeral services will be held 2:30PM Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at the Whipple-O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Rev. Mark Brandt officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park with Graveside Military Honors conducted under the direction of the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10AM-9PM and Wednesday from 10AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Elmer was born September 27, 1929 in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of the late Gordon and Olive (Gates) Strickert. He had resided in the Clio area the past 40 years coming from Flint.
Elmer married Florence Brown February 8, 1958 in Flint. He was employed with Kurtz Gravel for 35 years retiring in 1985. He was a life member of the Gordon R. Bennett VFW #1452 in Clio.
Surviving are: wife, Florence; children, Stephen and wife Cheryl Strickert of Frankenmuth, Sondra and husband Mark White of Montrose, Douglas Brown of Port Sanilac, Karin and husband Lucky Craft of Millington; grandchildren, Christina, Michelle, Eric, Jennifer, Bryan, Gregory, Lorie, Scott, Derek, Jason and Jason; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvin and wife Louise Strickert of Clio; sisters, Kathleen Matthews and Hazel Johnson both of Genesee.
Elmer was preceded in death by his son, Michael Allen.
