Elsie Uppendahl Pohlmann
daughter of Friedericka Augusta Strickert, daughter of Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert, son of Johann and Christina Strickert.

Elsie D. Pohlmann, 89, Normal, Ill., died July 3, 2004 at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal, IL.

She was a graduate of the Kansas University School of Nursing and had worked at KU Medical Center.

Elsie was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and had been a volunteer for many years at the Home Sweet Home Mission, where she and her husband were named Volunteers of the Year in 1995.

She is survived by her husband, Vernon; two sons, James Pohlmann, Bloomington, Ill.; and Kenneth Pohlmann, South Miami, Fla.; one sister, Edna Uppendahl, Scott City, Kan.; and two grandsons, Michael and Kevin Pohlmann.

Kibler-Smith 96 Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.
