Sprague, Wash. Visitation for Gene Leslie Brown, 68, will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash. Service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sprague. Burial will follow at the Macabee Cemetery in Sprague.
Mr. Brown, who was born in Fishtrap, Wash., died Sunday.
He was a lifetime resident of the Fishtrap-Sprague areas.
He graduated from Sprague High School in 1951, and in 1953 was drafted into the Army. He served for two years.
Mr. Brown farmed and raised Black Angus cattle in the Fishtrap-Sprague area.
He was a 50-year member of the Tyler Grange. In 1964 he was named ``Soil Conservation Farmer'' for the Sprague-Harrington District.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Bertha; a son, Larry Brown of Sprague; a brother, Johnnie Peter Jr.; and three grandchildren.
