Grace Wilma Clara Hoppenrath Kling
daughter of William Hoppenrath, son of Charles Hoppenrath, son of Christine Wilhelmina Sophie Strickert, daughter of Johann and Christina Strickert.

Rockford -- Grace W. Kling, 79, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, in Rockford Memorial Hospital. 

Born Jan. 31, 1925, in Chicago, the daughter of William and Edith (Klug) Hoppenrath.  Grace married William C. Kling Dec. 31, 1947, in Chicago. 

She worked as an operator for A T & T, and was one of the first Avon ladies in the area.  She was an active church member at Redeemer Lutheran Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Grace enjoyed social activities with friends, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, John Kling of Rockford and David (Mary Beth) Kling of Belvidere; daughters, Donna (John) Herge of Montgomery, Ala, and Janet (John) Cummings of Waukesha, Wisc; grandchildren, John, Kayla, D.J. and Thomas; great-grandson, Joseph; sister, Ruth (Larry) Rasmussen of Beverly Hills, Fla.

Preceded by her parents; and brother, Ralph Haack

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road, with Pastor David Thies officiating.  Internment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, in the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.
