daughter of Henry Frederick Wilken (and Edith Eikelberger) son of Anna Louise Wilhelmine Strickert, daughter of  Friedrich Wilhelm Srickert (and Wilhelmina Giermann), son of Johann and Christina Strickert.

OBERLIN -- Grace E. Cook, 90, died Sunday (Feb. 24, 2008) at Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.

She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Scott City, Kan., to Henry and Edith (Eikelberger) Wilken. She grew up in Scott County, Kan., and graduated from Scott City High School in 1937.

On Nov. 8, 1937, she married Wade Cook in Scott City. She worked as a homemaker and lived in Scott City, Sharon Springs, Lakin and Deighton, Kan., before moving to Oberlin.

She was a member of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wade, son, Merlin and four siblings.

Survivors include her son, Harold Cook of Norton, Kan.; daughters, Jeanette Miller of Oberlin and Connie Quador of Pueblo West, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Vickie Cook of McCook; two sisters-in-law, Alice Wilken of Loveland, Colo., and Wennie Pottorff of Stratton, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Doug Hasty officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m., until the time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to the Grace Cook Memorial fund.

Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin is in charge of arrangements.
