Helen Krenzke Strickert (wife of Arthur H. Strickert, Son of Henry John Strickert, son of Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert, son of Johann and Christina Strickert) Born March 20, 1920 Died Dec. 20, 2007, Dearborn, Michigan
Helen Ruth Krenzke was born in Midland, Michigan, on March 20, 1921. She met Seminarian Arthur Henry Strickert at the Walther League Convention in St. Louis, MO in July 1944. They were married August 2, 1945. Their first parish was Concordia Lutheran; Jackson, Tennessee where Ruth Anna was born in 1948. Their second congregation was St.Paul; Hillsdale, Michigan where Karen Faith was born in 1951. Their third church home was Our Redeemer; Dearborn, Michigan where Gloria Jane was born in 1956. In 2001 Helen moved into Westhaven Independent Living Apartments, in 2003 she moved to St. Anne’s Mead assisted living, and since 2005 she lived at Shelby Manor, an adult foster care home. She died there under hospice care on December 20, 2007. Ruth, the oldest daughter, who is developmentally disabled, is presently a resident at the Mt. Pleasant Center. Karen married Dennis Hoerauf, of Bay City in 1974. Gloria married Edward Kaczor, of Detroit in 1977. Rev. Arthur Strickert entered heaven on August 9, 1979. Helen was a loving grandmother to Matthew Christian Hoerauf (1979), Bryan Edward Kaczor (1981), Laura Catherine Kaczor (1983), and Anna Faith Hoerauf (1986). * * * * *
December 20, 2007. Age 86. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, The Rev. Arthur H. Strickert (d. 1979). Dear mother of Ruth, Karen (Dennis) Hoerauf and Gloria (Edward) Kaczor. Loving grandmother to Matthew, Bryan, Laura and Anna. Survived by sisters Eva Poulos and Pauline Schaller; brother-in-laws, Arnold Strickert, Roland (Waneta) Strickert, Robert (Eunice) Strickert; and sister-in-law, Betty (Walter) Ruehrdanz. Celebration of Life Service on Sunday at 2 p.m. (in state at 1 p.m.) at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 24931 Union, Dearborn. Visitation at the Dearborn Chapel of the Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 22546 Michigan Ave. on Saturday from 4-8 p.m. Memorial tributes suggested to Bethesda Lutheran Homes and Services, Inc., 700 Hoffman Drive; Watertown, WI 53094, Project Compassion, 3307 29th St.; Detroit, MI 48210 or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 24931 Union St.; Dearborn, MI 48124.

On Aug. 2, 1945, Helen and Arthur were married.

Surviving are three daughters, Miss Ruth Strickert, Mrs. Karen Hoerauf, and Mrs. Gloria Kaczor, all of Michigan;
