Hendrick Strickert
The first Strickert to cross the Atlantic was likely Hendrick Strickert in the eighteenth century.
According to the Ship Manifest of the Snow Betsy, leaving the port of Rotterdam on Aug. 27, 1739, there were 61 males, all from Palatine, as passengers. Among them was Henrick Strickert. There are actually two variations of the list. On the second his name is spelled Hendrick Streckies. Eventually he settled in Pennsylvania.
