son of Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert (and Wilhelmina Giermann) son of Johann and Christina Strickert.
Pioneer Resident is Taken by Death
John Carl Strickert passed away at his home in Delano, Washington, Wednesday of last week, Feb. 27, 1952.
Born in Chicago, Illinois on Nov 3 1866 he was a pioneer of this area, having farmed for many years south of Govan. Fifteen years ago he moved to Delano. These last years he was engaged in house moving.
Survivors are his widow Lena, at the family home, and two daughters, Mrs. Sadie Marcum of Almira and Mrs Viola Canady of Grand Coulee, a son Emil and seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral service were held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the St Paul Lutheran Church at Wilbur with Rev, R. H. Wuest officiating.
Pall bearers were Mick Perry, Jess Canady, Albert Strickert, Joe Marcum, Ernest Strickert and Clifford Benjamin.
Interment was at the Wilbur Cemetery with the Peterson Funeral Home in charge.
