Elma resident--Heatwave Victim
Henry Schwindt suffers sunstroke and dies soon after

Monkton, July 15.  The heat wave claimed its first victim of this district late Monday afternoon in the passing of John Henry Schwindt, at his home at Lot 21, concession 15, Elma Township.  The late Mr. Schwindt whose death came as a distinct shock to the residents of this district, had been in seemingly good health. and was engaged in his usual farm labor, when he suffered a sun stroke.  Medical aid was immediately summoned, but all efforts to revive the sufferer were to no avail and the victim passed away shortly after.

Mr. Schwindt was born on concession 5 of Mornington Township on Feb. 23, 1870  the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Schwindt, natives of Germany.  Mr. Schwindt was a successful farmer and worked the greater part of his life of the farm where this death occurred.

Besides his wife, the former Miss L. Strickert, he leaves to mourn his sudden passing, one daughter, Mrs. Fred Dittmar, Logan, and also two brothers, Chris Schwint on the 5th concession Mornington, and Conrad Schwindt, Poole.  

The funeral will be held Thrusday afternoon with a service at the late home at 1:30 o'clock followed by a public service at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Monkton.  Interment will take place in Lutheran Cemetery in Monkton.
