Son of Kathleen May Strickert Matthews, daughter of Gordon Valentine Strickert, son of John William Strickert, son of Christian and Pauline Krugel Strickert, son of Johann and Christine Strickert.

April 26, 1951 - June 17, 2009.

MATTHEWS, Karl D. - Of Mt. Morris, age 58, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at home.
 
The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Pastor David Burkett will officiate with burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m.
 
Karl was born April 26, 1951 in Flint, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Kathleen (Strickert) Matthews.

Karl served his country in the United States Army. He was employed by Delphi, where he retired from in 2005, and was a member of the UAW.

Karl leaves to cherish his memory his mother Kathleen, four brothers: Dennis and wife Sue Matthews, Steve and wife Jan Matthews, Bryan and wife Sue Matthews, and Bruce and wife Amiee Matthews, two sisters: Kathleen Matthews, and Elizabeth and husband James McLone, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward.
