Margarette Uppendahl
Aug. 21, 1929 - July 11, 2003
Margarette Uppendahl of Bend died Friday of Alzheimer's disease. She was 73.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. today at Vermont Hills United Methodist Church in Portland.
Mrs. Uppendahl was born Aug. 21, 1929, in Anamoose, N.D., to Adam and Pauline (Braun) Wohl. She earned a nursing degree from Trinity Nursing School in Minot, N.D. She married Donald Uppendahl on June 14, 1955, in Anamoose, N.D.
She worked as a registered nurse for the Portland Veteran's Hospital and for the East Moreland Hospital in Portland.
Mrs. Uppendahl was a volunteer for church and community activities. She also enjoyed being with her family.
Survivors include her husband of Bend; four daughters, Carol Haffer of Seattle, Susan Takemoto and Mary Dona, both of Bend, and Rebecca Little of Steamboat Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Henry Wohl of Anamoose and Arthur Wohl of Bismarck, N.D.; two sisters, Clara Wohl of Minot, N.D., and Florence Stenhejem of Anamoose; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
