
Mervin Earl Hoffman son of Augusta Agnes Strickert Hoffman, daughter of Christian Strickert, son of Johann and Christina Strickert
Mervin Earl Hoffman, 92, of Elkton died Friday morning, Oct. 15, 1999, at Tendercare in Cass City.
He was born May 22, 1907 in Pigeon to the late Charles and Augusta (Strickert) Hoffman.
On Dec. 9, 1928, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Waggoner at the First United Methodist Church in Bad Axe. She preceded him in death Dec. 15, 1979. Mr. Hoffman owned and operated the Plymouth dealership in Elkton for many years. He was a member of the Hubbard-Winsor Lodge No. 420 F.& A.M. and the Elkton Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his daughter, Peggy Warnke, of Elkton; two sons, Robert Hoffman and his wife, Mary, of Pensacola, Fla., and William Hoffman and his wife, Joyce, of Coldwater; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Simon.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A private graveside service will be conducted for the family at Colfax Township Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton.
