son of Charles George Strickert, son of Herman Frederich Charles Strickert, son of Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert, son of Johan and Christina Strickert.

Rogers, Arkansas -- Orlles Edgar Strickert, 85, of Rogers, Arkansas, died Friday,  Sept. 9, 2005.   He was born April 4, 1920, in McCracken, Kansas to Charles G. Strickert and Thelma Snyder Strickert.

He was baptized at and a member of the St. Cornelius Episcopal Church in Dodge City.  He was confirmed on Dec. 13, 1953.  He served on Vestry, Jr. Warden and Sr. Warden.  He was a carpenter and worked on the Parish Hall in 1961.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge 1187 in Dodge City.  He received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit from the Loyal Order of Moose fraternal organization.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Jessie Appel Strickert on Jan. 2, 1984; and his second wife, Wilma Elson Strickert on July 14, 1990.

Survivors include two sons, Doyl Strickert and Stuart Strickert, both of Rogers; a daughter, Deanna Strickert of Springdale, Arkansas; a sister, Wauneta Messenger of Garden City, Kansas; an uncle, Phil Strickert of Garden City; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 13, at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Rogers.  Arrangements were by Callison-Lough Funeral Home of Rogers.
