Husband of Leona Mae Macy, daughter of Louise Justine Mahler, daughter of Augustina Charlotte Strickert, daughter of Karl Friedrich, son of Johann and Christina Strickert.

Scott City -- Paul W. Numrich, 85, died Dec. 28, 2003, at his home in Scott City.

He was born Feb. 8, 1918, at Kansas City, KS, the son of John P. and Emilie Wagner Numrich.  He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1936.  A Scott City resident since 1946, moving from Kansas City, KS, he had been the owner and operator of Paul's Food Market , Scott City, for many years.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He belonged to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, had been a director of the Security State Bank and was the recent city treasurer, all at Scott City.  In 1966, he was the coach for the Scott City Little League State Championship team.

On April 25, 1942, he married Leona Macy at Kansas City, KS.  She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Skip, Scott City; a daughter, Louise Berning, Scott City; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Art, George; and a sister, Emilie Digeralamo.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Scott City, and the Rev. James Websters presiding.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 to 11 a.m.  Wednesday, both at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City.  Internment will be in Scott County Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to the church, to the Scott Recreation Commission Scholarship Fund, Parklane Nursing Home or to a charitable organization of the donor's choice, all in care of the funeral home.
