husband of Laurel Denise Strickert, daughter of Karl Fredrich Strickert, son of Charles Frederick Strickert, son of Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Strickert, son of Johann and Christina Strickert.

Scott City -- Richard A. Binns, 51, died July 31, 2004, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichita, Kansas.

He was born Nov. 30, 1952, at Ashland, the son of Allen Lee and Maxine Pearl Turner Binns.  A lifetime Scott City resident, he was a general contractor.

He belonged to American Legion, Scott City, and was a U.S. Army veteran.

On March 16, 1974, he married Laurel Strickert at Scott City.  She survives.

Other survivors include: a son, Eric Binns, Wichita; a daughter, Kimbra Binns, Topeka; his mother, Scott City; three brothers, Mike, Scott City, Tim, Derby, and Julian, Shawnee; two sisters, Susan Irwin and Julie Janssen, bot of Scott City; and a grandfather, Walter Turner, Scott City.

He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Matthew Dean Binns; and a brother, Porter Binns.

Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, with the Rev. Mike McGuire presiding.  Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Tuesday at Price and Sons Funeral Home, Scott City.

Memorial may be sent to the Richard Binns Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
