She was beloved wife of Rev. Walter F. Strickert; dear mother of Ann Schmidt, Sandra (Gary) Stechmesser, Gail (Thomas) Somers; sister of Erna (Logan) Palmer & Raymond (Lucille) Schoene; grandmother of Karen (Ronald) Schmidt, Gretchen (Nathan) Stout, Brad (Libby) Schmidt, Jennifer (Richard) Riesdorf, Jill (Daniel) Kuchle, Karl (Kelly) & Paul Stechmesser, Shawn & Scott (Lisa) Somers; dear great-grandmother of 9, aunt, cousin & friend to many.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Karl & Mathilda Suedmeyer Schoene & her beloved first husband of over 50 years, Walter J. Riedel; three brothers, William (Francie), Karl Jr. (Irene) & Paul (Mary) Schoene & one sister, Doris (Edward) Schmidt.
Ruth was an active member of King of Kings Lutheran Church.
Memorial service at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 13765 Olive Blvd., Chesterfield, Saturday, 11:00 a.m. Memorial visitation to follow after the service at the church. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to King of Kings Lutheran Church, American Cancer Society or Mercy Hospice. A service of the SCHRADER Funeral Home.
