Two sons of Johann and Christina Strickert settled in Scott City, Kansas.

On March 15, 1888, the Scott City newspaper reported: "Carl Strickert and Wm. Wilkin of Canada are in the city prospecting, with a view to buying farms and locating here.  They have already purchased five quarters.  Nine families from the Dominion of Canada will settle on these.  They are thrifty German farmers."

Later in 1888 Karl F. Strickert, his son in law William Wilken, and their families arrived for good.  In 1893, following the death of Christina in Canada, her son Friedrich arrived in Scott City along with his family and his ninety two year old  father Johann.
