Age 91, passed away suddenly Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center.
Survived by three sons, James M., Richard M. and William K. (Teresa) Zenke all of Joliet; three grandsons, Michael (Kate), Paul and Eric Zenke.
Preceded in death by her husband, Martin Zenke; parents, Harry and Mary E. Smith; a sister, Nell Larkin.
Born in Joliet, a lifelong resident. Graduated from Joliet Township High School Class of 1936 and Joliet Junior College. Virginia worked for Graham Olds for many years. Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, charter member and a Sunday School Teacher, Kings Daughters and Sons, Ginny was honored last year for 80 years of service. She also volunteered at Silver Cross Hospital.
Lying in State Monday, January 12, 2009 at 9:30 at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Services at 10:00 a.m. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Sunday 2-6 p.m. at the Blackburn-Giegerich-Sonntag Funeral Home.
