WILLIAM C. KLING, 84 ROCKFORD - William C. Kling, 84, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, in River Bluff Nursing Home.
Born June 3, 1923, in Rockford, the son of Axel and Ida (Rathke) Kling. Married Grace W. Hoppenrath Dec. 31, 1947, in Rockford.
William was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a machinist at Ingersoll, and office manager at Hill Tool and Supply. He was an active church member at Redeemer Lutheran and St. Paul Lutheran Church. William was an avid gardener and enjoyed long walks and spending time with family.
Survived by sons, John Kling of Rockford, David (Mary Beth) Kling of Belvidere; daughters, Donna (John) Herge of Montgomery, Ala., Janet Kling of Delafield, Wis.; grandchildren, John, Kayla, D.J. and Thomas; great-grandchild, Joseph; sister, Irene Schwartz of Rockford.
Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Theodore and Raymond; and wife, Grace W. Kling; Nov. 30, 2004.

Visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 7, with funeral at 2 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home, 8800 N. Alpine Road. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
