Catherine Barbara Neumann (1855-1933), wife of Frederick Strickert, was one  ten children of Johann Frederick Neumann and Louisa Sophia Wendt from the vicinity of  Dreveskirchen in Mecklenburg-Schwerin between the cities of Rostock and Lubeck in the far north of Germany.  The family settled in Perth County, Ontario, and later also in Detroit and Preston, Minnesota.
